Sponsors had more than one month to react to this, and NONE came forward.
I contacted the manufacturer directly, and they put me in touch with a distributor that will sell in bulk. The best price break comes at >48 - 4 oz sticks. At this rate the cost per stick will be $3.35 plus shipping. Shipping will not likely be a lot since we will have the whole lot shipped at once from Pennsylvania. This price compares with the best price I could find from That Fish Place on the Two Little Fishes product, 4 oz for $6.30 I think it was. The price for 2 oz sticks from Home Depot is 2.67. So for 4 oz it would be 5.34 plus MA tax. Price break for the group buy, assuming $0.25 per stick for shipping we come up with a cost saving of at least 30%.
I've not used this product in reef tanks, though many folks from the other threads said they have with no problems. I'm trusting on their experience.
Shelf life is about 1-2 years. Keep cool and out of sunlight. The distributor tells me that if you haven't used it and are worried about it getting old he turns it over very fast and if you send him back some he will send you fresh stuff.
