A yellow belly something...that did not like how close I was to its nest.

Leaf cutter ants working away. not really in focus, it was too dakr for the camera, and the ants were hauling butt, although it was a neat pic.

Is that a monitor in the 2nd pic? How big was the rest of him? My buddy has one he got as a baby(8 or 9 inches) and he was told with the right environment he could grow to be over 4 or 5 feet long.

Dave, were you standing in their path when you took that shot? I made that mistake once in Belize... MAN those guard ants (or what ever the massive ones that protect the group are called) have quite a sharp bite!!!

I think thats an iguana, it was about 2-3 ft long with tail I would guess. we saw them walking along the side of the road most of the time. They would go into the drainage holes at night, in the evening when we would walk from the restaurant to our room you could see the end of their tails coming out of the 3 or 4 inch tubes. I think they were so used to people you could walk right by, and they would not even care.

I was not in the ants path, but they were really neat. I have a few other shots of them, but because of the trees it was too dark to get a good picture.

After looking at the picture fo the monkey on a different computer, I realize I need to brighten it up, on my laptop you can see the teeth of it.

Costa Rica is a very nice place with a ton of stuff to do. We had a ball. Lots of photo ops too, I took over 800 pics while I was there.

I was on one Island, and there was a baby monkey (not too small) in an animal preserve area. The monkeys could come & go as they please. I bent down (I wasn't close) to zoom in & take a pic. Mama monkey came up behind me & slapped me on the ass to tell me to back off!!!

I will post my CR pics too. I got some decent ones.

Also the lizard is a Black Iguana.

Where in CR were you?

Thats yellow breasted something Keith, I just forget what. We were in Guanacaste, the north pacific side. We stayed in the gulf of papagayo to be exact.
