Feedback on Nikon D70 Needed

anyone have one? i am finally going to be able to get one soon in the next month ! ... i thinking id rather go Nikon over canon digital rebel ..id like to get the d100 but i havent the extra money ... so its going to be the d70 ..thoughts? pictures taken with one ... suggestions where to get one? anything at all !

I have the D-100, I purchased it last March and love it, the D-70 is almost the same camera with a plastic body. One nice feature is the quality of the available lenses I have the 105mm f2.8D AF and a 24-85mm f2.8-f4 D AF. The lenses are expensive but like everything else you get what you pay for. You will pay about the same price anyplace you get it, B&H Photo in NY is a good place I have been buying accessories from them great service.

hmm ..thanks ... im not going to bash the camera around so plastic will be okay i guess ... i want something to start off with in the digital slr realm .. i thing the d70 is going to be the way to go .. i dont think i can touch a d100 with a lense for under 2k ... so i guess i will prolly get a d70 when the time comes .. and hopefully it will be really soon!

I have the D-100, I purchased it last March and love it, the D-70 is almost the same camera with a plastic body.
The D70 and D100 both have polycarbonate (High-impact plastic) and rubber bodies. Polycarbonate also known as Lexan, Lexan is pretty much bullet proof. The D100 does have a metal frame though, not sure if the D70 does. I will have to do some research to find out.

The D100 is a better built camera but the D70 is newer and has a few new features like NEF and JPEG simultaneous recording.

I have heard mostly good reviews for the D70.

from what i see the canon 300d has less features and a slower shutter than the d70 .. would the d70 be a better choice? if i get the no interest card from circiut city next week after they verify it all i'll be the owner of a slr camera finally!
