Any suggestions? Currently have a Mavica CD300 - takes small CDroms
I'm looking at buying the Nikon D-70
But the wife wants a small "purse size" camera for her
I was thinking it would be a good idea to get a camera that will take the same media as the Nikon

Make sure that she really tries the camera. My wife thought she wanted one because of the small size, but then when she went to use it and could not keep her fingers off the lens.

I agree. Go into a camera store and have her try the different models. You should get the one she is most comfortable using. Figure out how many megapixels you want and then simply handle and shoot with a bunch of different manufacturers within that megapixel range.

My wife shoots with a Canon A2 35mm SLR. She shocked the heck out of me when the digital point and shoot she bought was the Pentax Optio 555. (Disclaimer..I shoot with a Pentax 35mm SLR so I am a little biased, but I had nothing to do with the choice.) She said it was the camera that felt the best in her hand with the features she wanted. The Optio 555 takes sD cards not compact flash, so if you are looking to share between the Nikon and the Point and Shoot, look for one that takes a Compact Flash card.
It might be better if her camera uses a different memory card. That way you don't find out the hard way that she swiped your new 512mb card to take pictures at someones birthday party.

I have a Pentax Optio S. It fits fully inside of an altoids can. It's 3 megapixel, but they now have a S4 that is 4. I like it, it's tiny. Fits comfotably in a shirt pocket.
