Any insight? I don't really want to use the stock hang on clip. Will the mag float magnets rust at all?

i have seen some really good Ideas for brackets here and on RC.
as for the magfloats, no rusting unless its cracked, but use the larger size.

i took the 3-suction-cup bracket piece, and superglued it to the top of the powerhead, so when you mount it on the glass, if faces across the tank. worked well for me, although I ended up not using the MJ-mod cause I didn't really feel it worked all that well

what type of mod were you running? got a pic?

N - If you have one of Reefdom's, I'd strongly suggest to stay away from suction cups if your have any type of sand bed. if it falls just once, you'll have a sandstorm to remember

Then theres something wrong with it, theyre beasts.

As to mounting, the best thing I've seen is the Swivel Brackets from the SEIOs (you can get TAAM to send them to you for like $8.) Just glue the bracket to a cleaner magnet, and you have directional control, and the ability to move them.

This could be easily adapted to a MJ...

I actually made my own mod, based on some of the designs on reefcentral.com. I never found any propellers, so i ended up crafting my own, and used a PVC fitting for the shroud. It worked ok, but wasn't really putting out the kind of flow people were raving about, so I took it down. I think its lack of performance may be because there wasnt enough holes in the shroud for water to enter, or that my custom-made prop was inefficient. I'll see if I can post a picture of what it looked like in the next couple of days
