Just wanted to say how great the service is at Marine Depot. I received an order that I place and realized that something was missing. Sent them an email and "bam" they replied and sent the product out that day. I have always had great dealings with them when something was wrong. They have top notch customer service in my book. Two thumbs up:)

I've had similar experiences. No questions replaceing merchandise that was damaged in shipping, no fault of theirs on the packing.

A good portion of the stuff I got for my tank came from them. Free shipping on all my order because I went over the limit. Fast shipping with tracking numbers and great service. The packing OMG I could ship my car across the country in the packing peanuts they used. Can't see how anything could ever get damaged in shipping from them unless UPS drops it off the 100th story of a building. I'll buy from them again for sure..

Many great experiences here as well. My very first purchase with them I had an AquaC skimmer come broken via shipping (UPS had obviously ran something over it.) They had a new one immediately sent out to me, and coordinated the pickup with UPS. I've ordered many many many other times from them without a problem. Only thing I don't like is they are in CA, so if you order UPS ground, takes a few days to get here, but I'm just impatient :rolleyes:

In fact I had a problem, and that is usually how you seperate a good company from a great one. I ordered a bunch of stuff, 2 days shipping, and critical - elbows & strainers for the 125g tank.
I could not finish filling setting up the tank without these
Order went right out....without the elbows
Elbows shipped the next day.....ground....they have a statement that mentions this somewhere on their site.
So I E-mailed them & explained my problem. They shipped another set overnight, and told me to keep the ones that shipped ground to boot
I've since gone on to buy quite a bit from them

Same here, Excellent experience. I ordered my MH components from them, and were packaged VERY well. Received the order when I was supposed to, very clear communication. A+

I agree. Great Service and Prices. Plus if you call with questions they answer them all and steer you in the right direction without pressuring you for a sale. Two thumbs up as they say.

First time ordering at Marine Depot.

Just placed a few orders with MD, one yesterday and one today (the stuff I forgot to get yesterday).

Both times, orders were shipped within two hours of order.

A few days ago I had a Geiseman actinic go bad after about 7 weeks of use and the are sending me out a new one. I am splitting the shipping charge with them and they are covering the shipping of the bad bulb back to them.

They are very accommodating.

ironically enough, everyone is ranting and raving about this place - I'm at wit's end.

Ordering something two weeks ago, was informed its on backorder and should ship within a week. Called yesterday, with a callback number, left a voice message - no reply. That is week 2. Tomorrow I will call after noon our time to adjust for their time difference and if they don't fix things to my preference (i.e. ship STAT) or at least give me a specific date it will ship, will cancel my order and buy elsewhere.

As it turns out one of the things I ordered yesterday is backordered as well. I hope I don't have the same experience.

It's nothing urgent (besides me just WANTING it) so I'll try to be patient.

As a rule, when placing an order with an online vendor, I always call them to make sure that they have it in stock. I never rely on the web site for accuracy.

I'm surprised to hear Jack is having an issue with MD. I've been buying from MD for years and have never had a bad experience.

I keep going back.

The first order I placed with MD was at my door soonest (Vortech). No complaints there. This one is taking a while. Since the post last night, MD did send me an email explaining what a backordered item is (!) and still failing to provide a date that I can expect my item to ship. Maybe if I ask them in writing to give me a specific date I can cut to the bottom of this and take steps to resolve.
