It looks like the mandarin might be a female, we just had a lesson recently.;) Don't go by me though, we just found out that we had 2 males in there! Had to separate them and hope to trade one for a female soon. Both of ours are always out as well, never hiding. They are too gorgeous to hide, aren't they?:D

I can see a tiny spike in that dorsal - from what I've been reading, good chance it's a male.

Very hard to tell for sure without the dorsal fully extended. I would say female if I was forced to guess though. Is she looking a little skinny or is that a trick of the light?
