View Full Version : T5 Ballast issues?

I am running (2) 54watt t5's for my actinics. Once in a while I notice the light go off then turn back after a little while. I have the ballast mounted up so that air from a nearby fan keeps the ballast cool but it doesn't anything but warm to the touch.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

Yup,I did look to make sure something wasn't going on there.

OK. Next time the ballast turns off look at your AC display and see if it says off or on. You might have some issues with ballast noise. The ballast might not be properly grounded or the phone line is close to the ballast lines. You might need to get the twisted cables. I had too get these from curt. All new DC8's come with this standard now.

You could also just look at your events log for the T-5's and see if theres any abnormal on/off times. You should just see the scheduled times. If you only see the scheduled on/off times, then you know you have noise. If you actually see the time the unscheduled lights came on/off then theres something in your program language.
