Well I know that this forum is called Boston Reefers, but it looked like a good place to go for some answers. Be fore I ask anything about my tanks, I should ask if just anyone from anywhere can join? Obviously I am from Ontario, Canada, not Boston. I'm sorry to bug you all if Ontarians aren't welcome. Please let me know. Thanks everyone.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the welcome. I have a big problem though. I don't know terms. Unfortunately I only know English. I don't know what most short forms mean, so please be patient with me and type full English. Thanks.

Okay here is my first question about my tanks. I have two Percula Clowns. I think they are the faulse ones. They are still beautiful though. The problem is, is that they tend to lay on the bottom of the tank, a lot. They look healthy and eat still but always go to the same spot on the bottom. Do any of you know what it means? Also, in the same tank, I have a Niger Trigger. He's gorgeous, but I am not sure what he would do with an anemony. What is a good anemony for my clowns and would the trigger bother it?
Thanks in advance.

Anita

Theres probably a good chance that the clowns are scared sh*tle$$ of the trigger. Do you ever see the Trigger and clownfish together?

Or the clowns may be laying eggs in that spot. They breed pretty regularly if they're not killing each other.

Oh and BRS is Boston Reefers Society, the board that you joined. :)

Hi Anita and welcome to the BRS (Boston Reefers Society ;) )

Clowns tend to hang out in one place and host if there is anything to host in. I don't see a problem with an anemone in the tank with the trigger. Do you have live rock (LR) in the tank? That will give them a place to hide if they need to, and it would give a place for an anemone to attach. If they are healthy and eating, I would think what they're doing is normal.

Welocme to BR !! My clowns breed like rabbits . But they have no trigger in the tank. they like to swim on just 1 side of the tank. which i think is weird but sayla ve when in rome lol. watch the trigger though they can be funny fish

Welcome aboard
Please tell us some details about your tank. What size is it? How old is it?
Can you post pictures?
Clown can host other corals that are easier than anemones, frogspawn, hammer heads, even mushrooms and zoo's.
Not sure about a trigger and clowns. How big is the trigger compared to the clowns?
Any way glad your here.

Hello Anita and welcome to the BRS! :) I have some family and friends in Ontario. Mostly in Toronto and Oakville. We used to go there on family trips a lot when I was a kid, I loved it!

These fish have been together, well I'm not sure for how long, but I've had them for several months and I bought them from some guy who had them all, nine fish all together in a 35 gal tank. They never really go after eachother and the clowns have just started about a month ago to lay on the bottom. I was thinking eggs too, but could I really be that lucky? I still have no anemone either for them. That is why I was asking about one.

I would love to post pictures of my tanks. I just don't know how to so if you can give me instructions. I have a 55 gal and a 50 gal. The 50 gal has a Maroon Clown and a Pyjama Cardinal. I have a Brittle star, a Green Hair Serpent star, two Rat Tail Serpent stars, a Sally Lightfoot crab, and a Box Crab. There are also small stars which split in half when they multiply. I love watching them all feed. My 55 gal tank has a Niger Triger, about 4 inches long, 2 Percs, a 3 Stripe Damsel, 3 yellow tail Damsels and another Damsel, I think it's something like a Neon or Black Velvet. Sorry, I'm not sure.
