I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I'm kinda new to the hobby.......well not as new as most are but still NEW. Anyway it all started about 3 years ago when I wanted to do a salt water nano tank and it ended up being a 120gl and then a 12gl nano and now a 2.5gl pico. So it's become a part of life and I hope the body of water in my house only gets bigger.:rolleyes: Hint Hint Wink Wink;)

Oh you thought we are going to upgrade the 120? Nah, thinking of upgrading the 2.5 to 3 maybe 4 gallons! :D

question.. what kind of filter do you use for that? and what kind of up keep is necessary? i teach special ed.. and i have been pondering of setting up a nano in my classroom. i have a 90 gallon at home, but i want to hear it from someone that actually has a nano.

I have a aquaclear 50 filter I took the filter media out and put live rock and cheetos as well as my heater in it. I have had some trouble with it when I unplug it the impeller get stuck. As fer as upkeep water changes using the water from the 120gal tank once a week.:D

do you run a small light above the macro?

I put a small light on the back of the filter. If you look at the picture the light is the blue box. I tried the light over the filter but it was to much light going into the tank at night. :)

It's a home cheapo 9 watt under cabinet light....round!
