Magnetic MH Ballast 175w question

I have a question about the mentioned Ballast in the title. I received a shipment today and the ballast (I got used from a friend) looks like it got beat up during shipping. 2 corners are crooked, as if it were dropped on one side. I hooked it up to the light and it fired. Made buzzing noise as it was firing up, and got quieter as it warmed up. I did see some sparks (or flashes that looked like sparks)inside the ballast when I turned it on, and it appears the bulb has a slight flicker after it's warmed up. Does this sound normal about the sparks, etc.? Would the light not fire at all if the ballast was damaged, should I be worried about using it? I'm new to MH and ballasts so please forgive the questions of they seem simple.. Thanks

Who made the ballast?

Could have damaged the cap when it was dropped. (capacitor) Or maybe yanked on a wire so it isn't making a good contact. Tell us the name brand if you know it or post a pic. I could probably tell ya as well as others in this forum from a pic.
