HELP! I have some sort of infestation. My oculina was showing regression, then a button polyp is melting. The only thing I can see under magnification is small white dots. The button polyp is covered, I see them on the oculina and now white spots on the yellow finger gorg. I cannot get a picture as it is microscopic. Sound familiar? Anyone know what it could be? Help!!!! I am getting desperate as it appears to be moving fast.

Can you post the best pic you can get? Are they fluffy dots like a nudi?

They are so small I honestly cannot get a picture. I cannot even see them with the naked eye -- I have to use my magnifying glass. Can nudi's be that small?

Try taking a picture trough the magnifying glass. Pretty tough to take a guess without seeing them.

I have to get a different camera --- I spent ages tonight trying to get a picture without any luck. I can't even get a picture of the melting button polyp and that's at least a half inch let alone something I can barely see under the magnifying glass. Could it be bacterial?

I have got another theory runninng through my mind now. This all may have started just after a leather I have shed some sort of sklin. The weird part is that the flow of the tank would have pushed this in the other direction. But could the white dots I am seeing under magnification be some sort of mushroom spore?

Might have some type of bacterial infection on some of the corals. I'd recommend siphoning off any white areas, and possibly taking each effected coral out of the tank and vigorously shaking it in a small bowl of tank water. Make sure the corals are returned to the tank in an area of good water flow.
