3. me shrimp fishing... wicked fun pastime where you learn shrimping technique, catch, and eat.
4. my cousin and i eating shabu shabu (hot pot)

the color is rare in the wild... most specimens of that caliber descend from human breeding programs. no dyes or DNA mods though.
illegal in the united states so black market prices are CRAZY. the foot and a half perfect specimen in the photo would probably fetch $400,000.00 here from nuts rich asian people.

once again, nice try!

well since i swing back there (thanks to the all-powerful and generous steven-boss-man of skipton's) once a year, one of these trips i'll bring back some crazy rare ridonkulous fish and/or coral and donate it for a club auction!

this time was my first time hauling fish via checked baggage (freezing-ass cargo-hold) so i brought cheap guys (freshies mostly) to make sure everyone makes it. of 16 fish i lost 1 inflight and 1 after acclimation... both of a slightly more fragile species (Pseudoepiplatys annulatus "clown killi") so all in all very successful. next trip will definitely have gems.

Thank you for sharing these pics, and it is very fascinating to see other cultures in action. The "fish Doctor" is very interesting.

i think it's fascinating too... i feel very lucky to experience those other cultures and figure pictures are the least i can bring back to show you guys.
