i'm sure steve's looking... but they hide well!
look into Alpheus randalli. really beautiful red and white. wouldn't outgrow the 3 gallon pico whereas the tiger definitely will.
patience, xavier! if we don't have one now, we'll get you one.
have you decided on a shrimp goby yet? check out fishbase.org if you have some genus you want to look into.
cheers, michelle

snap us a photo. there's a couple of gobies that have red stripes.
most of the time they're okay without a shrimp partner so don't be nervous about finding a pistol. doesn't have to be that quick.
call steve and have him order you a tiger or candycane for pick up with the next shipment.
i'll be in later in the week.
cheers, michelle

I get a picture of a cat and a dog! I don't think they'll pair with a shrimp. :p
Is this it?

That's a pink spot watchman goby.
They actually get quite large, and usually pair with tiger pistols. I don't know whether they'd pair with a candycane.
If you've got these in a 3g, I think I might consider switching it with one of the many smaller shrimp gobies. They have really cool colorations too. (I posted one of the options above).
That pink spot will grow to over 4 inches, and the tiger shrimps are about 2 inches long.

sorry nate but that's a wheeler's shrimp goby. Amblyeleotris wheeleri or fasciata in the banded shrimp goby group, not the stocky shrimp goby group (Cryptocentrus genus) aka the watchmen.
we have a clear shot of his face so...
the banding on the face especially over the eye is the indicator. not only is it prominent (where pink spot watchmen would have faint if any banding on the face) but it angles backward away from the nose (a pink spot watchman with facial banding would angle towards the nose)... it's definitely a wheeler's goby.
i have to identify fish on a work-daily basis... the subtle differences is what makes it. God forbid i send a customer home with the wrong (perhaps very dangerously wrong) fish or invert.
maximum length 3 inches which is on the smaller side of the shrimp gobies.
don't worry, xavier. we got your back!
cheers, michelle

Sorry Michelle! I'll definitely defer to you on that one. I'm far from a fish expert! It looked like a pinkspot at first glance, but I see now that I was mistaken. :) No arguments here. :o
