? about fuge

I understand most of what they are and how they work.But not sure about sump style under the cabinet or hang on.i can see food source coming from hot but don't understand how it wood reach the tank from a sump style.any advise. :confused:

the goodies get into the main tank via return pump sometimes whole sometimes in pieces. I use the sump style one . works real nice for me.
