Hello Boston Reefers,
Any Providence folk interested in a city/surrounding area tank tour? We would like to get out and see some other members tanks!

Barry the easiest way to set up a Providence tour is to hit Johnnys on a Thursday night. Should be able to get Jeff(cobra +#'s), possibly Julian ( I would be in for seeing his haventt been there myself) maybe Brian( aquaman) would be in for playing and you can beg Jim( calciumbuf) if he has any time in his schedule ;), maybe also Dave (LDF) as he is near by and Shawna ( crazysomething)

Now wouldn't that be a smart way to go about it. Thanks Dawn. We have been trying to avoid Johns on Thursday night, all the sweet stuff he gets in can be a hazard to the wallet:)
Maybe we will go over tomorrow. I have heard Jims tank might be the best looking around. I'll put Jen up to asking Jim to see his tank, might be easy for him to say no to me....but a good looking 22 yr old might be harder to say no to;):D.

Forgot to go to Johns tonight to see if anybody was interested in a Providence area tank tour.
If you have a sweet reef you should show it off!

My frag tank isn't worth looking at...give me another 6 months and my display will be well worth the trip.....meanwhile you can take a look at this to feed your hunger......I had well over 50 sps in this tank......not to mention an assortment of colorful LPS, unfortunately circumstances forced me to break it down....

Very nice Brian....I have to commend you on your 3+ month wait to stock your new tank.
IMO we have an awesome nano:D...the wee little fraggies just need to grow out:)
Any thoughts about a 20G high? It would fit on our stand, give us a little more width (2 in), little more length (4 in) and a little more height(4 in). I don't think we would add more rock, it would just give us more growing room.
I would trade photos or your tank for a in good shape 20G high tank:)

I'm fresh out of tanks, sold them all, However the 30g which is more of a 24g display that i have may be right up your alley, And i've preety much overcome all the obstacles that limits usuability of the tank.......maybe income tax time, I know where to get them for decent money.... they are preety much ready to run.

Might need to get some details about this off you. Come April it could be a birthday possibility for me from Jenny. It would have to be a sweet deal, the 20H was pushing it.

heres the suggested retail.........Remember this comes with skimmer, skimmer pump, return pump, fuge, fuge light etc its all inclusive. I got mine for 250, maybe you could offset some of the cost with sales on your equip after its set up..

Thanks for the link. Not really looking to upgrade that much. Just looking for a little bigger tank. Don't want to have to offset the cost by sales of the stuff we have just bought in the past few months.
Really would like for the new tank to fit on the stand we already have which is 13.5 x 25 inches. The only tank that I saw that would fit was a 20H.

Just a little hint, tank depth as in depth perception opens up alot of doors, If you do upgrade me personally I would go with at least an 18" depth tank. 24" is optimal but rarely found in anything smaller than 120g............

I'd like to go bigger, but this move into a slightly bigger tank is just that. Slightly bigger to give our frags more rooms to grown out and to give us a little more water. I know it would only add 10G, but adding 10G to a 23G system would have to make a difference. In a 20G high we could just move everything into that tank and try and put it back as close as possible to what it is now.
If we were to go to much bigger then we would have to get a new stand, lights and we are just not ready for that. Come January 2009 we are going to move into something in the 40 gallon range.
I agree that more depth in a tank is good.

well you can come see my frag tank but like i said not impressive in the looks department, only thing impressive about it is the amount of SPS i'm keeping happy in a very very small volume of water, most people don't realize how difficult it can be.

Woooo Whoooo man this is getting to be a massive Providence area reef tank tour, might have to split it up over the course of a couple weeks:p
Over in Woonsocket we have:
Cardiak (way to step up to the plate)
Dawn, didn't ask but if she is not to busy I'm sure we can stop by:)
Providence:
Brian (wee little frag tank full of SPS)
Jen and I (wee little mixed 10G)
Come on folks, I know there are more of you out there. If you would rather do it the way Dawn suggested I will release Jen upon you at Johns. She can be restless:p and usually gets what she wants:D.

LOL.......I must not be persuasive enough to rally these people into a tank tour, still would be fun to get one going, but for now Jen and I have been knockin down tanks one by one:D.
I think the last time they got together it was summerish, so maybe the warm weather will bring them out.

The last time we did a tank tour was last summer. It was a lot of fun and we should do it again... But you may have offended fellow reefers in RI by calling the Captain Canuck Club "Rubbish" :D. They take their Canadians very seriously there. :p

Non sense and "Rubbish" are two different things....
By singing the Canadian National Anthem wearing nothing but a Captain Canuck Costume. The costume can be substituted with a pair of speedos...but they must have the Canadian colors...the maple leaf must be in the middle or the back...not on the sides.
This is the "Non sense" I was referring too:p.

I am in Portsmouth RI, and would be willing to participate in an area tour... that is, if Portsmouth is not too far out...
My tank set up is a 210g reef, mostly SPS, with a 90g Sea Horse/Sea Grass set up (brand new) a 75g refugium, and a 29g invert tank, all on one system... about a year old now, so still young by many standards.

I think there may be a bunch of people in the Tri-State Reefers out your way, you may want to give them a shout and see if they are interested also.

Um If you want to be in the club that is what is required..........
All clubs have requirements......this club is no exception......we all did it to join, If you want in then you have to be inducted in wearing the full captain canuck club attire.......Be sure to give us a notice ahead of time, would hate to miss a great photo op........

I'd like to get a tank tour together but I have given up. If the members around decide to do one I'll join in. For now Jen and I have just be visiting tanks one at a time.

Most of us from this area are Tri-State members also, some more active than others. If there was a tank tour I'm sure a lot of TSR members would participate.

I believe there are only about 10 or 12 paid members in the Tri State group... and there are many more reefers in RI than that...
But again, I would participate in a BR tour... that would be fun... and I am willing... I can accommodate a large number of people in my reef room, and have several tanks up and running that are interesting, at least for me... a 90 g Seahorse tank, a 210 SPS tank, and a 29 with some interesting inverts and a pair of clowns... besides the refuge and other meaty stuff... (actually, I find I enjoy looking at the refugium as much as the other stuff... found some interesting worms in there this morning...
