I no longer have room for two of my acro colonies. One is a Green Acropora humilis and the other is an Acropora Divaricata. They are nice large pieces red mites free.

If someone is interested AND have good conditions for SPSs (250W plus, calcium reactor, etc) post here. No PM please. I don't have and won't have pics. Must pickup during the weekend. Not first come first serve, i'll choose who takes it.

Armando,

I have a 180 with 3 400W HM14Ks but since it's time to change my lights I am going to replace 2 of them with 250s. Though I've gotten several frags from Greg, Bec and auctions that are doing very as well as a Haddoni that has doubled in size, it's still kind of barren.

I don't use a reactor, but drip kacl and Bionic. Everything is doing well. Though several frags have more than trippled in size they still tend to get lost in a 180. I would love a nice show piece that could be the center of at least one end of the tank.

armando, in thinking about this offer overnight, why not donate these acros to the club and auction them off. i think this would be win-win for everyone.

Dima, interesting idea but this is more an adoption sort of thing. I want to be able to decide where the corals are going and know they are going to be taken care of.

Corwin a 180 will be a great place for the Divaricata. It's a gorgeous piece and you need more than frags in such a large tank.

Dima the Humilis will be happy in your Tunzed 125G, they like water flow.

So guys if you want to take them let me know when you want to pick them up.

I'll take them Armando. They would be going into a 2 gal bucket of Merrimack River water under a 25 Watt night light. Did I mention that I keep the salinity very low because my dog also needs to drink from the bucket?

How am I doing, am I in the running?? ;)

Armando,

If I remember right, your on the southshore?
I'm going to be in Salem, NH tomorrow.
Then I have to make a stop at Bunker hill and after that at south station.

Let me know what's good for you. If tomorrow doesn't work then Thursday, or next weekend.

Large Acro colonies don't usually adapt well to new tanks. Why not bring the colonies to a meeting and we'll chop the whole thing up and distribute to anybody you think could keep it alive? A lot more likely that some piece will survive, IMO. FWIW, A. gemmifera has a VERY low survivability rate in tanks. Needs SERIOUS water flow.
