reef/fish safe?:D Ha! No way, man! They'll eat any crustaceans they can fit in their mouth.
Matt:cool:
Edit: Thanks for the pictures! You can't say cuttlefish without pictures. I'm so stopping by this weekend.

lol they are REEF safe but not FISH OR CRUSTACEAN safe. clams, snails, nudis, and slugs and related animals are okay tho. hermits with caution.
check out this article and the compatibility thread on tonmo. that forum is AWESOME for cephlapod fans.

how's "dr. cuttles" settling? he was already zooming around in here and shifting colors! hilarious trying to blend in with the hermit shells and blue ridge skeleton.

Those guys are just beautiful. Great now I need to setup a cuttle tank. I would not be ready for 1 now but would you guys consider getting them in again?

well considering how difficult it was to pull them in here from a reputable breeder this time around i'm not sure when we can have them again.
i will try tho, if there're enough of you who're asking for them.
let me know if i can do anything else for you!

They are truly delicious looking. If I don't like the selection of calamari at Stop & Shop, which is likely, I'll be stopping by tomorrow. :D

Cuttlefish jerky? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/HouseHead/Avatars%20and%20Smilies/barf1.gif
Asians eat the nastiest things.
Personally, nothing says heaven like a nice, heaping plate of Cheonyeophoe.

I was kidding guys. I'm half asian. I've eaten squid jerky before, which isn't bad. But it usually has too much MSG on it for my liking.

Are they short lived in a aquarium?
genkireefer
06-08-2008, 01:28 PM
read the article!
they live to be about 13mo. the little dudes we have here are about 3-4weeks old so you have about a year with them if you keep them well.
a year sounds short but it's natural for them. and for those who have kept them before, they're remarkable animals to be in the presence of for that period of time.
let me know if i can do anything else for you!
cheers, michelle

Mine is doing very well. Keeping him in a net breeder in a 20 extra tall. He is sucking down frozen mysis! Well worth the price, even for an animal that has a year lifespan.
