Hi everyone

Just want to show my latest diy hood I made for the office. The hood is made for a 29 gal tank. It house 2 x 175w mh power by PFO ballast
with 2 x 3" dc fans. It was a fairly simple to make but staining and poly took the longest(drying time in the garage).

Now can anyone help with drilling a few holes in the tank with me. I hanv no tools for drilling glass:).

I drilled mine with the dremel/jewlery bit method. If you're going to go that way, I would reccomend going this way:

I really wish I had done mine this way. Would take up no in-tank space and would give you all the benefits of having a drilled tank.

I'm not sure I want a overflow box. I was thinking of drilling a few holes on the back of the tank for drain and return.

the way this kid did it, hes got an overflow box, but not in the traditional sense, no syphon needed. It works the same as an internal overflow.

If you're thinking about drilling the back, just make sure you keep the holes high up so you dont have to worry about draining during power loss.
