Marineland Black Diamond seems to be the one most people like/use. It's important that is a phosphate-free one.

Just got off the phone with Marineland , they told me the biggest amount they sell is the 3.65 bottle , it is not available in bulk bags
Scott how did the test come out on the bulk bag you got, could you please post the results
I also got a bag & use it with no problems but you had it tested

How about the carbon you get at walmart. It is made by Marineland...heck it is the same container as black diamond. I've been using it for over a yr and works great. It's called Aqua-Tech ..900ml is something like $3.50 retail. Maybe we can get bulk of this stuff. I'm in if it is cheaper and same stuff...

I have been using petcetra. its bulk carbon so it needs to be rinsed WELL before use. no problems with it. someone will need to give me a strong case to spend alot on carbon.

Can anyone locally order large bags from ESV ?
I've split these before with Joe V. the shipping wasn't cheap. I think they come in 80lb bags.
The ESV carbon is a good quality carbon.

Just to clear some things up here regarding this buy. LittleP on behalf of Sea Creatures has picked up this group buy. This does not mean that you have to purchase from them. LittleP has (IMO) followed the rules and posted the details of the buy though Sea Creatures ON the Sea Creatures sub forum. If you want the details, and are interested in participating in the buy through them then go there and check it out. Here is the section of the group buy policy that was followed:
>When and if a BRS web sponsor picks up the group buy there will be a post in the thread linking to the information about the terms of the sponsor's group buy. That information will be posted in the sponsor?s OWN forum, and not in the main thread.<
This does not mean that everyone has to purchase from Sea Creatures. Let me repost a section of the group buy policy that applies here:
>We will encourage everyone to show each other respect and to maintain professional conduct at all times. Sponsors are asked to postpone or decide to use another item when another sponsor has already advertised a group buy for the same product(s) so as to not develop any controversy or create ill will.<
Sea Creatures was the first to post with a link to their subforum, giving the details of the offer that they were making. As mentioned above we ask that other sponsors not all try to offer the same thing, but I don't see as how we can block them from doing so. Some people due to location may not be interested in buys that work though certain sponsors and required them (not saying this is the case here) to pick up in the store. Another section of the policy that applies here:
> Threads that end in group buys being picked up by a BRS web forum sponsor will not be closed since some BRS members may not be interested in participating in the group buy due to location, or terms of the buy. Any BRS members interested in participating in the group buy with the sponsor should continue all further discussion on the sponsor's sub-forum. <
Any further questions regarding this policy and how it relates to this group buy should probably be continued in a different thread so as to not hijack this one.
