Yes, Fish Night will be a magical event. A true celebration of things that swim, and how they taste covered in batter and deep fried.

I will proudly serve as Master of Ceremonies.

stevenp

There will absolutely be a fire.

Grilled fish, foiled fish, smoked fish, raw fish... oysters, scallops, squid, shrimp, mussels, clams... it's all good. Hell, we'll even cook goat again if someone is so inclined to bring it. MNCOA does not discriminate.

Respectfully,
Master of Ceremonies, MN/FN

Are you bringing more pallets? The last ones you brought burned nice...

I think I could come up with some. They do burn nice.

If someone has a truck, there's a place in east providence that gives away loads of pallets...they got a sign out front that says "free pallets" and it's always there...

This will be quite a hike for us, but after talking to Cory, I think David and I might check out fish night...oops...excuse me, Fish Night. :D Sounds like a good time!

Also, after talking to Cory and the other guys...being a borderline vegetarian, I think I'm glad we missed Meat Night. :::eek:

Funny, I'm the exact opposite....love fish, but it has to be well cooked for me to eat it. ;)

Hope you guys can make it!

Yeah, we got a little carried away at Meat Night II. Half the stuff we cooked (goat for example) just ended up getting thrown in the fire at the end of the night. We might tame it down a little at Meat Night III next winter :D.

Also, there's an election coming up for MNCOA BOD seats. As these events continue to grow it's pertinent that proper order is set in place.

More information on this exciting event to come...

Sounds like you guys are having a grand ol'time. :)
I was wondering what MNCOA stood for. Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I'm with Gina. Some of what you guys listed just didn't sound like things to eat.::

When is it?

The MNCOA BOD has not yet decided on a date but it will probably be another month or so (warm weather is required for Fish Night).

OMG... Can't believe I did not see this. Ok... Who is going to get the Fugo (pufferfish)... I say if we are going to go....Lets go BIG!

Bill, I hope you have plenty of wood for the fire. By the time we are done, no beetles will be living within a block of that fire!:D

With the fires you guys build the fish will be cooked before it even hits the grill!

I suggest Lionfish. See the video here:

I would definitely try lionfish if I had the chance. They'd be a bit on the expensive side seeing as how the LFS is the only place I know of to purchase them locally :)

Interesting idea using pancake batter, we will give that a try at Fish Night for sure!

We had a trial run and I would say it is up to par. I wonder if Steve or Cory took any pics? We had enough food to feeed about 20 people and only 4 of us ate seafood!

stevenp
04-28-2009, 06:36 PM
Yeah we had way too much food for 6 people (2 of which don't even eat seafood). Jen and Nicole said Cory and I are no longer allowed to go to the grocery store together without supervision.

I have some pics. I'll try to get them up tonight.

You're the Treasurer of MNCOA, so we're blaming the $300 seafood bill on you.

I have been eating lobster rolls every day since Saturday....

What happens after everyone leaves and I'm sitting by the fire bored with a box of beer. Threw three tiki torches (full of fuel) in the fire pit.

Fish should always come before meat. Nothing like some calamari before a porterhouse :)
