We've been fine tuning this new "Smart Start" Process of "cooking" rock. I got some pretty good pics last week so I thought it might be fun to post :)
First is phase one

Just imagine how much cycle time this saves
Then on to flushing,
We run a pump capable of 10,000 GPH and with the 3" plumbing we can run it about at 1/2 speed. ~5,000 GPH
The system is flow through so no crud being recirculated

Very Scary, The amount of crap we get out of the rock at this point is amazing.
You can almost see the cycle time going back in your pocket and the hair algae disappear :)
Shipped dry as always
wow looks awesome Marc, should be a real time saver when adding rock

I am guessing the Bahama sand is not gathered terrestrially - like the carib-sea stuff?
If so, It should be a winner. It looks fantastic!

Hey...
Can I send my Fiji back for a good cleaning? :D
The sand looks great. I hope your not getting it from the flats of Andros? We need it there. ;)

I just recieved 80lbs of Marks Fiji rock and it was so amazing I went back online and ordered the last case in stock. Although I am sure the Key largo is just as nice. Thanks Mark for bringing such nice rock to the hobby.

Paul what happened to the build and bet thread??
Well, with the first tank being replaced, the bet kinda just died off.
