i got a sunpower from reefgeek before they were available from Premiumaquatics... but they are top notch for sure. The Powermodule takes it even a step further with more solid construction and extra cooling... but you really can't go wrong with either one. It's nice to see another US retailer offering both of them.. i'm sure they will fly of the shelf for you guys.

whats the big difference. other than 500 bucks??
I was looking at the ATI 60" 8x80 (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATI-2037&Category_Code=ATIt5) or the ATI 60" 10x80 (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ATI-2039&Category_Code=ATIt5) and both of the descriptions state "2 bulbs on one power-cord and the other 2 bulbs on the other allowing for independent control and dawn-dusk simulation." what about the other 4 or 6 bulbs? I think it should be 2 bulbs on on cord, the rest on the other. But I hope it is 2 on one cord, 2 on a second cord and the rest on a third. Can you let me know what the powering setup is. I hope there are at least three cords for better lighting options.

can i ask why? It's more than likely 2 bulbs fire at once, then the rest all fire on one cord. 2 bulbs is for the dawn/dusk (actnic of blue bulbs) then you fire the whole thing up for the bright daylight part.

powermodule isn't 500 bucks more :) .
But the inner construction and parts used on them is pretty much the same, the powermodule has more cooling fans, and the casing is much heavier and sturdier. People also say the powermodule looks much better aesthetically.
More models sizes are available in the powermodule than the sunpower, for instance 8 and 10 bulb fixtures are available in powermodules, but not sunpowers.

I was thinking of having a bit more gradual dawn/dusk, maybe, two bulbs, then three, then the last 5. I was just thinking that 2 then 8 may be a bit too sudden.

yeah, maybe a little bit but it def. won't hurt anything. I think that maybe they should of done 3 and then 7 because three bulbs covers a wide tank better than 2, but none the less the dawn/dusk effect is more to aesthetically please you than it is for the corals health ;)
I ended up ordering the ATI Powermodule 60" 8x80 ... now I am just waiting for it to get off of back order...
