I picked up my 72 inch Sunlight Maristar light from Jeremy yesterday.
It has 3x250K Double ended halides and 4xT5's.....the fixture has a fan in it and the metal halide ballasts are remote.
Fortunately, I was able to install it myself......and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
The tank has even lighting.....the color is great, the fixture looks great....
I was debating between the Sunlight and Aquamedic...and I went with Sunlight due to their extended warranty and the facts this product has been on the market for a few years. Jeremy knows his products.
My previous system had 2x400 single ended bulbs driven on a PFO HQI ballast, 1x250 Iwasaki and 2 6 foot VHO's-----and that setup (retrofit) does not compare.....
also, i think this summer will be easier on the corals as this setup will have less heat on the system....
yes, it is expensive, but after the cost of my canopy and all the other products---the price is comparable, i wish i had originally purchased one of these hanging fixtures.
