A New Start

Waiting on a tank ..

Well it looks like no phone call was needed . PA came though . I got the Magnetic probe holders in the other day .
..As far as a stand ...The landlord has his business on the same lot . He is a third generation cabinet maker with a mad shop in rear of the lot . It has 2 or 3 floors of equipment
Sometime this winter we will make a larger wood stand .
I wanted a custom 40 x 30 x 20 or the 70 gallon 36 x 24 20 ? CAD tank but decided against it since I couldn't build a stand until later this winter .
I got in touch with a local LFS looking for a Illuminata tank . He gave me price and said he would order the tank . I got an awesome price on it and it would be in the following week .
In the meantime I had to start cleaning my probes for my RKL .
Soak my Tunze pumps and clean my Eheim return pump .

The tank dims were decided now . I went to Barnes ad Nobles to buy some books as a donations to kids for X-Mas . I went into a Petco and saw a welded steel stand for cheap .
It had a critter cage on it and the same dims as the Illuminata . HMMM . In a nutshell I bought it as temp fix .

I went to Lowes and picked up some wood and notched the board out with Doug's help . I decided to paint some of the stand white .

I did a dry fit and my SK- 201 will not come out unless the sump is pulled forward . Not going to work . I will have to settle for the smaller SM -121 which should handle a 57 gallon tank . I got a custom Acrylic top off tank from a friend in NC . My dosing containers are also going to be a tight fit . I should have used the botton section instead of notching the board . The way I have it now shortens inside height room .

And this is .................... Doug ... he wouldn't run around for the pic but this is one wicked saw . He moved it by using his body for the cuts . It has a long arm that swings back and forth .

As far as the rock for the tank . I really wanted this Eco Ceramic rock but the vendor kept dragging his feet . I shared this pic earlier in the BRS forum .

So after bit I gave up and went with some real reef rock (Fish Heads ) from a local LFS . One is the slab they offer now . I also decided to use Fiji pink sand . Funny i don't remember it being this small in particle size .

    I also picked up some
