Hey yall,

I've been setting up a red sea reefer peninsula tank. The tank just hit 2 months old. 2 weeks ago I added more pukani rock that I had been curing. Now the water is cloudy. Many people online said it was a bacteria bloom. What do you think it is and how can I fix it?

You can see it in this video:

Thanks!

Tagging along. Have the same issue (7-8 month old tank, currently under hypo, but since last week been cloudy and worse than above.)

I've only dealt with this on the fw side. A few large wc's, or uv? Not sure if it's the same for sw?

Must be something in the pukani that’s contributing to the bloom. Have you tested for ammonia and nitrite?

As Chris A said uncured pukani going into tanks isn't good, that being said if you did cure it, and you're running carbon I don't have any suggestions
