Default Trying to find the best tool to buy for minor aquarium-related improvements

For example, cutting some small holes in the plastic of an aquarium hood, cutting off the 'peg' part of frag plugs, that kind of thing. I was envisioning maybe a dremel type thing. I have a jigsaw, but that's a bit too heavy duty. I'm sure there's something I'm not thinking of out there, just wondering if anyone had a good idea for me. Maybe some kind of craft-related saw?

Re: the plugs they just break & crush easily with pliers or I find it best to cut them off with wire cutters.
