    Hello Everyone,

    Yes, the rumors are true, it is official we will be moving out of our Boston location to a new store in Woburn MA. Our last day open at the Boston address is Sunday July 22nd. We will be closed while we are in transition for the month of August, and will re-open in the Woburn location for Saturday September 1st. We will still be accessible during the month of August just not available for walk ins, until we re open in September.
    Before the thread gets out of hand, there are many reasons for this move and I have thought long and hard before making this decision. In this economy and market, we felt this is the very best move to serve our customers the best and evolve in this ever changing economy and industry. The new location has quite a different business model than the Boston location. In Boston we were full retail, while in Woburn we will be scaling back the retail to opt for more e-tail... We are foremost going to be an online store and aquarium service company. We will have open house hours for our showroom, but other than those times we will be available by appointment only. This will ensure a level of customer service that can not be matched anywhere in the industry. The lower expense in overhead will also allow us to lower many of our prices from the Boston location. We will also be offering some real unique things that you will not experience anywhere else in New England.

    So here are the key points for the new shop;

    Fantastic! Sounds like a good plan. Having you move that close could be dangerous for my wallet.

    is Unique Aquaria and skiptons the same store?
    sorry, I heard alot about Skiptons but never heard of of Unique Aquaria

    cool, woburn is nice. closer to my home as well.

    Well driving from the cape sucks wether going to boston or woburn so no harm here.

    I love the late hours on friday. Again driving from the cape it will be a lot easier running up after work friday rather than spending half a day on saturday driving up and back.

    Cheaper prices also work for me!

    Could we convince you to move to RI? I promise that it won't be the same situation as with Curt Shilling and 38 studios!

    It's a little bit further of a drive but at least i'll avoid all the airport/boston traffic! Do we have to make an appointment for the grand opening?

    How far in advance will the appointments have to be/recommended? (If someone has a tank emergency & in general.)

    It is hard to say exactly...it depends on the day and time I guess....Sometimes we will not be at the shop, we may be doing installs or service, or acclimating an order. But emergencies are emergencies, we would always do our best to accommodate someone in an emergency situation.
    I would say the more advance you could book an appointment the better. but surely there will be times when as little as 20 minutes could be fine, but realistically I would say at least an hour notice would be good. We will be booking appointments for 1 hour time frame, and never more than 2 appointments at the same time. This will ensure a level of attention and customer service that is unmatched in the industry.

    This sounds awesome on both accounts (emergency & regular visits). I can't wait to see what you guys do with the store!!!

    So was the new raceway system built in the new building or the old?
