Six years and counting, new aquascape

It's hard to believe but this summer my tank and reef turns six years old. Amazing how fast time flies.
A few months ago, Jake Adams was a speaker for one of the monthly meetings and he came over afterwards to see my setup. He made a comment to me about how he thought my reef needed more open space. Lately I had been thinking the same thing. Since that time I have done some aquascaping and gave my large derasa clam to the New England Aquarium. The tank is still on the crowded side, but looking a lot better I think. Here is a link to the new video. Enjoy

Here is another without me talking and with a little less reflection since the sun had gone down.

Looks amazing..... I'm always blown away with this tank and set up

Incredible as always. I remember the first time I saw your tank with the totm write up and then you changed lights and now aquascape. Looks great.

looks amazing, that must have been quite the undertaking reaquascaping that tank. i looked at some of your past videos on youtube and i agree the new scape looks better

Thanks everyone. I have to ask though, do you think I opened it up enough or do you think I should remove some more rock work? I like the newer aquascapes where less is more. The problem is I also like to collect a lot of corals. Hard to strike a balance.

i think you've struck the right balance. maybe get rid of that mini-pile in the corner with the purple rim cap, hydnophora, and acros to create some space there, but i think it looks great as is.

I LUV ur tank man!!! I love the set up and all the corals and fish. Just amazing. Congrats

NOOOO WAY.... that was the tank on youtube that got me into this hobby more than 6 MOs ago.... i blame you for all of my missing money lol

I thought of doing that. That is the stuff I removed from the front of the tank. The problem is that I havn't the heart to just throw corals out. Since the main display has AEFW, I can't frag and sell or even give the stuff away. So I try and find a place for it. I guess I'm just a softie, but it really bothers me to kill anything.

i mean i was clicking on random links on youtube and got to that, i literally paused the video to go on amazon to buy a tank... i had never heard of reef keeping before that instant...

i have like you have no idea lol every day after school im on the comp researching new techniques, finding new corals and just overall enjoying the reef. by the way sub back on youtube? :)
