In my constant quest to upgrade my live food setup and while planning for a future large dream tank upgrade that I want to have lots of wrasses and anthias I was thinking of ways to automate my pelagic (free swimming) copepod cultures which led me to an interesting concept.
I was thinking of plumbing in a 10-20+ gallon tank that could act as a large "culture" and leave it tinted with automated phytoplankton dosing and then have it on a separate return pump that could turn on at various times during the day to try and have them drain into the sumps return pump section so they would end up into the main display tank. I would think setting up powerheads to turn on and push water towards the overflow could help get the pods into that spot so they would get collected into the overflow.
Just curious what everybody's thoughts would be?
