I am gonna post this link here just in case I forget a diagram when I do come by. wiring diagram Plus this may be useful to others as well.

Thanks Jenn.....the wiring isn't the issue...nor the endcaps-I believe the wiring harnness is bad(or appears to have an open circuit, it's been wired and re-wired about a million times by now, hence I've given up atm and re-thinking what I want for supplemental lighting-or if I want any at all)
