Looking to diy a mh pendant lamp probably 14000k ushio...will this be enough light or should I just go for a 150w? At 70w its over 4:1 watts/gallon, but will it be enough to penetrate to the bottom? Maybe I should go with 10000k? But I feel like I would have to supplement with actinics...

Looking at being able to hold a wide variety of life, sps, lps....This will probably be my final tank upgrade, and i eventually want to get a clam if possible? (haven't done enough research on them) But that's until the distant future, so I can live without it lol.

i would just go with a 150w MH set-up... they are cheap enough already, and at 16" high, a 70w MH might not get as much light to the bottom as you want, especially to keep clams on the sand bed.

150w 20k and I think you'll be really happy

I have a Ushio 14kk. Is more like 12kk. Good if you have actinics also.

i will go with the 150 14k

Being that you want to keep SPS and a clam I'd also suggest the 150, no point in short-changing your tank here. :)

Missing the summer already . This thread's from 3 months ago :p.
