Acan growth

Just wondering but does an Acan grow it's own skeleton, like if you left it in the sand bed would it grow into a large colony. Or does it grow over rocks. Just wondering cuse mine in the SB is growing fast and seems like its growing new heads before it makes more skeleton.

Acans are a large polyp stony so they will create their own skeleton. They grow faster over rocks but can grow on the sand bed with no issue.
