Not sure if you are using them for aquascaping but I use the fiberglass driveway marker as supports in columns and such. Much cheaper that the acrylic and safe to use

I was actually looking at those but I wasn't sure if the dye in the fiberglass was harmful. How do you cut them without splintering?

I use a hacksaw and then sand them if needed. I have used the yellow and the orange ones for about 4 years now with no issues.
