My name’s Sam, and I’m based here in the Boston area. I’ve been keeping saltwater for a while and currently run a Red Sea 525XL system. Like a lot of folks, I’ve had a mix of successes and “learning experiences” along the way, but overall I’ve really enjoyed the hobby — especially the challenge of balancing equipment, water chemistry, and the biology side of things. I'm an analytical chemistry by training so this seems like a natural hobby!
Right now my setup is pretty straightforward (I’ve got a lone but very healthy clownfish holding down the fort ), but I’ve enjoyed putting together the system and keeping it running well.
I joined BRS to connect with other reefers locally, share experiences, and hopefully learn a few things from the collective wisdom here. Looking forward to being part of the community — and of course, I’ll follow the rules when it comes time to post anything for sale.
