So i came home friday to one of my Nearly naked clowns, Jodi, stiff as a board on my floor I was so bummed. Poor Jodi I will miss her. So I went to my LFS and bought another since I didnt want Finbar to become too territorial or lonely. Now I had been having no luck with my clowns hosting tried the pics on the glass and had no success but as soon as I added the new clown Finbar immediately started hosting my open brain! go figure

sorry for the loss but i got mine to host with a flash light and a laser pointer couple nights when lights went out worked for me cool looken brain

Its territorial, that's why your clown is hoating. I lost one clown (jumped into my ATO bucket) and bought 3 more. Now they are all hosting something in their own little space.

Watch the clowns carefully. If they become too loving and too rough, you'll lose the brain. Brain corals are not used to being rubbed on. My clowns have killed my acanthophyllia this way.

Yeah I wasnt too psyched about the open brain getting dry humped. Theres a beautiful sebae anemone that Fin wont go near. now what would the solution be if in fact i want to discourage the hosting?

it sux losing a fish that way, i just had a scare last week my Picasso clown got stuck in my overflow then when i went to get him out he got wedged in the small channel which broke the siphon. im happy i was home for that one. i made a cap for the overflow right there and then lol now he is staying on the other side or the tank and hosting the toadstool leather host toadst.JPG

Yeah! The coloring in the brain reminds me of tiger camo, it's got these deep purple streaks mixed in with the red and green it was a great find!
