Another 2 Part Question

Reeferer

Non-member
So I have dissolved peladow in 1 gallon of water as described in this article.
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php

What I want to know is can I use the BRS 2 part calulator? I went to this reef chemistry calculator as described in the 2 part article but it does not have dowlfake or peladow dissolved in 1 gal of water directions.
http://home.comcast.net/~jdieck1/chemcalc.html
The calculator only has grams and teaspoons to be added in order to maintian or raise your levels. It does not specify how many ml to add when the peladow is added to 1 gal of water.

The calculator does have Randy's 2 part and the ml to dose are the dame when comparing to BRS 2 part calculator. Is peladow or dowflake mixed with 1 gal of water considered Randy's 2 part?

All comments and advice are welcome!

Thanks

To your first question, yes.

You were supposed to use 20% less if you used dihdrate peladow (eg 2 cups for recipe 1, and 1 cup for recipe 2). From there the concentrations are the same for whether you used dihdrate or anhydrous calcium chloride and can use the pull down from randy's two part. you still need to say whether you used recipe 1 or 2, though.

I am no chemist, but I have read these directions a million times.

I am using Recipe 1. So Randy's 2 part in the pull down is what I want to use. Thought so but justed wanted to confirm.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the claculator for Randy's 2 part Alkalinity is for baking soda or baked baking soda? I would like to know before I start dosing.
