any LFS near Mystic aquarium

This is from when i asked in the CT forum last year. It was ok- the store sold puppies so......
the tanks w/ fish were good, the reef section needed help but was no worse than some other places i have been.
its not that far away if i remember correctly so its worth the stop.

Fin and Feather in Groton has recently redone their entire system and it's pretty nice. their new coral setup is actually a reef system with sumps in the back room, etc.

To get there from mystic take
the subbase exit off I-95 to Rt 12(exit 86 I think).
Take a left at the bottom of ramp.
Go about 6 lights (you'll pass blockbuster and auto zone on left, Wendy's, McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts on right).
After you pass Dunkin Donuts Take a Left and you'll be in the shopping center with Groton Post Office and Benny's, Fin and Feather is in the middle.

Here's my review : Great place to visit for all ages they have whale's , sharks, touching sting ray pool salt tanks are nice a few little reefs and a large fish only tank Fin and Feather was nice but anything I was interested in the weren't selling but growing out in a huge frag tank actually the had like 5 super large tanks with nice stuff they are growing out .. I would recommend the whole trip. They were happy

Thanks, I will be heading up there this summer with the kids, I didnt even know there was an Aquarium in Mystic. Are there any others around in New England?

Besides the New England Aquarium? Don't know. Good question.

I've been meaning to get to the Mystic Aquarium. I was actually in Mystic one day this summer but the aquarium had already closed.

I did see Atlantis in Long Island http://www.atlantismarineworld.com They have like a 20K gallon reef tank. It is simply amazing. I could have just sat there all day. It is a small aquarium overall and we got out pretty fast and saw everything and one sea lion show. But to see their SW tanks are worth it. There are other really nice tanks there too, just the reef tank is awesome. My daughter loved the hands on part of the aquarium. They have a place you can pick up clams etc, and they also have a touch the stingray tank.

I went to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago this year as well. And that was really nice, but honestly my favorite was still Atlantis. Although the Shedd has a new SW Reef exhibit that was nice, it couldn't beat out the one at Atlantis.
