Have there been any real studies done on what happens with MH light output and spectrum shifting with older bulbs?
I read in one plant forum that MH bulbs lose ~25% output after a year but that they're still useable. But that's for plants and not reef tanks.
I was wondering if anyone actually ever did a study on exactly how the output changes in terms of lumens/spectrum/PAR/etc over time.
