Any recommendations for heater

Bought 2 new inkbird titanium 300w heaters and woke up this morning to a 72 degree tank. Have all my water change heaters inside now to get it back up today but the heaters have to go. They will run off my apex so basically looking for a large titanium drop in heater without its own controller if possible.

The most frustrsting part is the heater started working right away so i thought it was my probe. Now ive wasted the $$ on the heaters and used up a backup probe also.

I use eheim jager heaters and always been sold for me. I set the temp 1-2 degrees off from my probe. Serves as a sort of back up for the controller

This doesn’t help after the fact, but maybe helpful in the future.

I have a very loud siren / buzzer connected to one of the 24VDC ports on the EB832. The siren is almost as loud a smoke alarm.

Output Configuration
If W2HIGH CLOSED Then ON
If LEAK_0 CLOSED Then ON
If Tmp > 83.0 Then ON
If Tmp < 76.0 Then ON

The siren looks similar to this.

I always used the finnex heaters on bigger tanks, but I use Jager heaters on my nanos.

Did both heaters fail? Or was 72 the best you could get with only one running?

I will avoid titanium heaters, as titanium heaters are not pure titanium, the reliability in saltwater can vary due to the alloy the manufacturers used. Also it is hard to tell if the heater leaks. I use Eheim glass heaters and change them out every two years.

In 30 years have used nearly every brand of heater out there, none, not 1, have not disappointed me. Heaters either fail one of two ways, they fail to turn on or fail to turn off. I now use 2- under sized heaters in each tank. if I need 300watts , I use 2-150's. etc.. if one fails to turn on temp drop is minimal, if it fails to turn off not big enuff to make fish stew.

Both failed somehow. I thought the controlled part looked really crappy when i got them but i tested them for 3 days before i took my jagers out.

This is something I worry about with my Titanium heaters. It’s almost time to switch out the heaters. I may go back to Eheim as I’ve used those for years without any problems.

I just ordered 2 eheim 300w. Didnt want to do glass this time but ive never had a problem with my 125w heaters that ive been using for 5+ Years and i was using smaller versions before those.
