would someone mind picking up sand for me from robbot at the meeting this weekend? i would have a frag of a green center zooanthind for ya! i would really appreciate it.

Catera, I'm in Lawrence, and you're welcome to get sand from me anytime before I pull my old tank down, probably late next week, if that's easier.

Nate

Looked at the directions and my schedule for tomorrow. Sorry catera, I will not be able to make it to the meeting. I live in lowell. How much sand do you need?

i can do it...send me pm...

Ahh, so you do need someone to pickup instead of just giving you some from their tank. I have a 92 corner also catera and with all that rock, depending on how deep you want your bed, you won't need much more than 2 bags.

ohh really? i wanted to do a dsb isnt that like 4in right. i thought the calculator said i needed more. i also have a fuge underneath. isnt much room under there!!! is yours reef ready dave?

yeah plus i have a 20l setup now that i will be breaking down so i do have some sand to seed my tank though.

Catera,
I was just about to leave for home depot in Salem, NH (I live in Westford) to pickup to bags of southdown. If you decide you only need two bags, can I buy the other two. Actually, I may only need 1.5 bags.

Not trying to be a vulture but the timing seemed perfect.

BTW, whatever you decide, I can pick up your sand for you.

Yup, you're right. I did. Setting up a new tank huh? I will probably just run to Salem. This tank is for my son and patience is not in his vocabulary. I'm trying to teach him though.

Karen, I would like to know if HD Salem has SD sand. I was up there in Sept and did not see any. Keep me posted. Thanks.

Karl,
I just did a search here on BRS and discovered that the Agway in Salem, NH is supposed to have it. I just called and they have 4 bags of 'tropical play sand' in stock. I need 2 bags. Do you want me to pick up the other 2 for you?

-Karen

Catera,
I put my rocks in before the sand so they cover a majority of the bottom of the tank. I used around 2.5 bags of sand and mine ranges from 1.5 -> 4 or 5 inches deep in parts. I kinda just let the current move it around. The sand in the back however is prolly not even an inch, but that is back behind the rocks.

Mine is Reef Ready.

You currently have a 20 gal and are upgrading to the 92 corner? You are welcome to come by and see how I did the plumbing and such, maybe you have some better ideas for me.

PM me if interested...

kas
do you still have him?? is he doing well?? yeah the 20l is more a pain in he a**. plus the 92 actually takes up less room the way i had it setup
