My only question is that these pills once taken from their foil package do disintergrate (SP?). I know this because I work for a vet. So would it not be better and more cost effective to use a smaller size esp. if you are only using a tiny amount??? Just curious. Nicole

What I do to avaoid this is to cut them up with a razorblade into about 8 equal sections after openning. I usually get several frags at a time so I will disolve in water and then split between the bags. To dip frags I dose probably about 20 times the recommended level. When I did the whole tank treatment I dosed at the recommended level follwed by 2 treatments at 2x the recommended.

It the weight in g is labeled on the pills then the size package makes no difference, just calculate the appropriate dose. If it isn't labeled then someone would need to weigh it to calculate.

The size of the pill doesn't matter, you just need to calculate how many g/L to dose.

I just did a little searching and be careful if you calculate your own dosages for different sized pills. The weight listed on the box is the weight of the active ingredient, not the whole pill. The large pills weigh almost 1 gram each from the literature, but the package says 23mg each. It doesn't specify that that is only the active component.
