Anyone here using Miracle Mud?

Armando

v 4.0
anyone?

i was wondering if it's worth the high price. i'm planning to use in a refugium.

I have only been hearing good things armando, mainly on reefs.org

I have not put the money into getting one ...i want more proof.

The Recmond Reef sump that my son won at Macna http://www.redmondreef.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=98 came with mud for the fuge section. Is it better or worse then sand? I don?t really know. I do know that my Nitrates have never been this low (undetectable). The only downside is that if you touch this stuff you have a silt storm. Even if you put hermit crabs in and they crawl along the mud they stir it up.

Armando, I have a 75gl refugium that I put live sand with miracle mud and work great. I did two to one ratio (two sand to one mud). My mangrove plant other plants doing great. Just make sure you spray fine shower on your mangrove plant. They sweat there salt out so you need to spray water to wash out the salt. I do it every morning before work and after.

From everything I read miracle mudd is a step above the conventional sand bed in a refugium although I never got around to setting one up since my Eco 40 (still in the box) is a hang on the tank or hang on the sump type and I don't think I can fit it.
