Anyone know of anything in the water that would kill snails but not anything else?

I have a 72 bow reef tank that is mostly SPS but a good portion of LPS and softies. I've noticed that in the past 6 months whenever I've added snails to the tank, they don't move then eventually die. The fish, corals, asterina stars all seem to be doing fine. I did have an outbreak of red slime algae that I am finally getting under control but the corals have mostly been doing well with a couple of corals RTNing from different factors. Parameters have been in the normal range. I run a HOB skimmer. TIA

Polycad flatworms can be very aggressive snail predetors and are easy to never see as they only come out in the dark.

Also, if you have a dinoflagellate problem that can kill snails.

Then again, sometimes snails are just difficult to acclimate....

It could be dinos--I've found that dinos will slow them down enough to make them vulnerable to hermit crabs.

I've heard that dinos can actually contain toxins that will posion snials directly.
