Anyone know what my mushroom is doing

So tonight I looked at my tank and everything seemed normal, then I came back later and noticed taht there was a white spot in the center of one of my mushrooms. I took a closer look and noticed that it was a bunch of white "squiggles" (yes that is a technical term) in the center. I took a picture, as shown below. The spot has retreated into the opening of the mushroom. Can anyone tell me what that means.

it will pull them back in. i have seen mine do that when they get moved around but they always go back together
