Apex and AI sol set up problems any exp???

I am having a lot of trouble setting up my AI sol LEDs with my apex I know how to get then to come on and off with time but I don't understand how to do the ramp up and ramp down I don't understand how they communicate if anyone can help I would really appreciate it PM me if you can save me. Have you figured it out? I assume you have the Apex VDM to control them.

The VDM works very well once programmed correctly, much easier than the AI controller in my opinion.
