I just set up a new tank 37 gallon. 12"d x 30"l x 24"h. I was originally going to setup a FOWLR but cannot resit keeping some corals. I am thinking of a T5 but how many watts would I need since its 24" high? Most 30" fixtures are only 2x24 but I can get a 36 since the bulbs are smaller and try and get higher wattage. I don't want to spend to much on the light.

I would like to keep softies and lps and and anenome for clowns.

Thanks,

Jared

what about led's?
you could use the optics to focus the lamps for a closer beam as needed.
so much to choose from, DIY or new mfg
DIY - your choice on fixture size (heatsink) & # led's
New - predetermined size but already done to a particular size

Definitely something you don't want to skimp on.

Look around, there are some 30" fixtures that have 4 lamps. Personally, I would look for something that has the bulbs staggered.
