Average Lifespans

Does anyone know a good reference for the average in-tank lifespans for our various reef inverts? Of course, this is assuming perfect conditions. In particular, I am looking for info about scallops and sponges.

Scallops --- the flame scallops usually die after about 6-12 months when they have consumed their energy reserves. Some people have kept them much longer by feeding a lot of phytoplankton I think (not me).

Sponges - those that grow naturally in our tanks I don't really believe have a finite life span. Like corals they have the ability to continue to grow indefinitly. Now, the fancy ones that you purchase at shops, some will grow, but oftentimes they are mishandled and die. Sometimes they linger and slowly rot for a few to maybe 6 months. I'd like to get my hands on a healthy blue sponge. I think these are photosynethetic to a degree, and can do quite well in tanks.

FWIW, I was critter diving with a guy who collected the orange tree and ball sponges in Florida....man was he rough with them! No wonder they usually die.
