Background color suggestions

I'm setting up a barebottom lionfish tank and can't decide on a background color.I want something that will make the fish reply stand out.any suggestions.pics would be cool too

Not sure I want to do black.I think it may take away from the fish

I'd say black too... I think any color but black would detract from the fish

I've had black and blue. I liked the blue for brightness but everything stands off of black. I had a lionfish in a black background tank. It was nice.

I was thinking about doing a black to blue fade starting with black on thebottom and fading up to blue.how do you think that would look?

That is a cool idea!only issue I see is that I'm going to be using a skimmerless,sumpless setup so im going to have stuff off the back of the tank.other than that it looks like a cool project
