Ball valve and union question

~Flighty~

Now with more baby
I haven't used the savko true union ball valves. Just the Lowes ones. They worked fine, and had double unions. I recall they were about $15 each for 1".

The 1" are $13.88 on savko, so we're probably not looking at much of a price difference. Darn expensive plumbing :(

I guess I'll just have plugs on hand for the drains and returns and save $100.

Cindy I have one I didn't use. It is 1" NPT yours for my cost $13.88. I can bring it to the frag draft if you want to check it out.

No reason to have them on the drains in my opinion. Those are empty when you turn off the return pump, so a simple union will do for any maintenance issues.

Just put a pair of them on either side of your return pump, so it's easy to remove it for cleaning.

Lowes valves work fine. I've disconnected the union on the 1.5" valve that empty's my sump tank. If it didnt fail there. It's not going to.

Note HD has similar valves, that work as well.

The HD in Nashua has discount union ball valves. They are not of the quality of a GF or Ashai and are not rebuildable but for a drain they are fine.
